A group of thirteen students of Part 2 Year 1 of City School of Architecture, accompanied by their teachers Archt Tamara Wijeyapala and Archt Peshali Perera toured China as a part of Urban Development Studies in Architecture. The main objective of the tour was to explore the Chinese history, culture and study the impact of industrialisation and globalisation on China’s architecture and traditions. The group obtained a first hand experience on how China’s recent experiences with modernisation and westernisation have changed not only the country’s physical appearance but also the mentality of its people.
