The first Continuing Professional Development (CPD) event for the 2013-2014 session, organised by the SLIA’s Public Affairs Board (PAB), took place on June 14, 2013 at the Auditorium of the Centre for Banking Studies, Rajagiriya. The first programme had “waste” as its topic, which was an expansion on the National Conference theme of “Social Enterprise.”

The expert panel of speakers comprised Dr. Ajantha Perera (Founder National Programme on Recycling of Solid Waste & Advisor to the Ministry of Environment), Mr. Priyantha Samarakkody (Director, Waste Management Authority) and Mr. K H Muthukudaarachchi (Deputy Director-General, Environmental Pollution Control Division, CEA).

A large gathering of Corporate Members graced the occasion, which was followed by cocktails and fellowship.
