The Geoffrey Bawa Memorial Lecture 2011 was delivered by Architects Wong Mun Summ and Richard Hassell, founders of the Singaporean architecture firm- WOHA, synchronized an interesting and thought- provoking presentation at the P. de. S. Kularatne Hall on the 27th of May.

They discussed several projects, including high-rises, a boutique hotel and an institutional building. WOHA’s sensitivity to tropical climatic conditions and the need for environmentally sensitive architecture was evident through-out the presentation of their works.

An interesting feature of WOHA’s work was their play with light and shadows and innovative material palette.

They presented the audience with fresh perspective towards architecture that was truly refreshing.
