Brazilian architecture legend Oscar Niemeyer celebrated his 103rd birthday on the 15th of December by opening a museum of his highly acclaimed work. The event also coincided with the grand opening of the designer’s most recent project – the Oscar Niemeyer Cultural Centre in Aviles, Spain.

Located on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation details the 70-year career of the famed architect, whose major projects include the new federal capital of Brazil, ‘Brasilia’, with a bold selection of architectural designs putting the city firmly on the map.
