Kiribathgoda house, not only represents the owners desire to be close to nature and appreciate the tropical climate, but also demonstrate the creative efforts of Architect Damith Premathilake and his holistic approach to architecture.

Amidst the busy streets of Mount Lavinia, this unassuming house, occupying a tight niche is approached by a narrow by-lane. Archt Sagara Jayasinghe envisioned a straightforward and homely design that he could call home.

The wide timber doors at the entrance open into a gravel courtyard with a reflecting pool at the western end. The pond’s black tiled surface mirrors the earth – coloured walls of the building while light and shadows cast a playful show.
